Baseball

At the end of the school year, we experienced a Wilmington Blue Rocks game with some of our friends.  The kids all had a great time playing and running around and the fireworks were very cool, but I am not sure any of them spent much time actually watching any baseball.  I guess we are not quite ready for a Phillies game...

Paul helped coach Max and Sam on a coach-pitch baseball team this year.

Jack had to sit through his big brothers'  baseball practice and game every week.  This poor kid gets dragged to everything and is such a trooper.  I can't wait until he is old enough to play on a team of his own...

Max and Sam Graduate

In early June, Sam graduated from his 4 y/o preschool class.   Westminster--our preschool--does a cute little program full of songs by the kids and individual poems.

Sam had a great time in Mrs. Hillworth and Mrs Dodsen's class.

Sam with his two best buds, Jimmy and Sammy O'Kane...

We had a celebratory lunch with some friends afterward...

Max graduated Kindergarten in mid June...

I can't believe this little guy is getting so big.  Kindergarten was amazing.  He learned so much, really enjoyed his teacher and class, and made some great friends...

With his two good buds, Connor and Julian...

They had a cute little party in his classroom afterwards...

Max really enjoyed Ms. Emrich...

Memorial Weekend Trip to NYC

We love to visit Uncle Muck and Auntie D.  The boys have so much fun in NYC, and it always so nice to see and catch-up with Marc and Deleah.  Since we usually arrive right around dinner time, our first stop is usually Chinese food--the very, very authentic kind right from ChinaTown.

This year we did a little tourist action around Central Park, and also hit the Central Park Zoo which was very cool.

We had good intentions of making it out to the Statue of Liberty, but with the holiday weekend it turns out we weren't the only ones with that idea--the line to take the ferry was hours long.  There was no way we wanted to spend our day waiting on line, so we admired Lady Liberty from afar and decided to go with Plan B.

Plan B:  Times Square!  Spiderman chose Sam to help spin his webs that day--it was pretty cool!

The boys always love riding the subway...

We stayed in the studio in Marc and D's building.  Paul and I took the bed, while the boys shared the air mattress.  However, this is how it usually ended up come morning...

This and That in May

We got a crazy storm in May.  I had a babysitter for the boys and happened to be out and about driving around in it.  I almost didn't' make it home--this is what the road looked like just before my street!

Eating a nice lunch outside.  After such a brutally long winter this was a nice activity!

One of our friends had a "pot party--bring your own pot!"  The boys got to paint their pots and fill them with dirt and flowers.  It was such a cute idea and so much fun!

Mmmm, artichokes!  This is one of my boys' favorites!

Sammy had a cute little Mother's Day program at his preschool...

He also got to dress up for "cowboy day"

Lunch at California Tortilla--the boys' absolute favorite place to eat...

The weekend before my birthday I went out for pedicures, dinner and dancing with a bunch of my girlfriends,

Then my handsome boys took me out for sushi on my birthday,

And surprised me with a cake when we got home!

The boys discovered a turtle in our driveway one afternoon.  When they came in to tell me I totally didn't believe them--I have never seen a turtle out of captivity, just wandering around.  But, sure enough, it was a turtle!  We had a lot of fun watching it, then we let it go in the woods.

My boys also love a good subway sandwich for lunch...

Max doing his homework. It was amazing to watch him learn to read and write so well in kindergarten...

Sammy often did a little "homework" of his own when Max did his...

Jack helped Paul and I with all or our gardening and planting...
