Down The Shore

We had an amazing getaway "down the shore" with some of our great friends--the Boyles--over Memorial Day weekend.  Even though we had taken Max and Sam to the ocean when they were really young (the summer of 2010), they were way too little to remember. So, for all intents and purposes, this was the first trip to the ocean for the little Blane boys.  Kind of a shock since it is only 90 minutes from our house!!!
The Boyles have the cutest beach house in North Wildwood, NJ located right on the water on an inlet of the harbor.  The three Blane boys and the three Boyle boys are thick as thieves and had the most amazing time together (although I am sure the noise level was a lot more than three times louder…)!  Paul and I really enjoyed ourselves as well and couldn't have been more comfortable--Christine and Bill are extremely gracious hosts!

Here are some highlights from our stay:

A trip to the bait store was a frequent and fun outing for the boys since it was only a block from the house and we let them walk there all by themselves...

We took a fun ride on their boat to "Boat Island" and wandered around on the sand, looking for treasures and enjoying the scenery...

We had a ton of fun just hanging out in their "backyard"--sliding into the canal off the deck slide, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming...

When the boys actually saw the ocean for their "first time" they were amazed.  Jack took one look at it and exclaimed, "Wow!  Is this the pool?"

We spent our last day hanging out at the board walk and took in all of the sights and smells and rides and games and food...

I'd say these wiped-out boys had a ton of fun!!!
