July Fun in Pennsylvania

Normally we spend all of July in Utah.  This year we changed it up a bit and ended up staying here in PA for the majority of the month.  Though we missed hanging out with the family and all the fun in UT, we fortunately found plenty to do to keep us occupied here on the East Coast.

We joined the pool at the Y for the first time since moving out here.  We are usually gone all summer so it never made sense to do so before this year.  The boys had so much fun, and we spent many afternoons splashing and playing with our friends.  We always had lunch there, which was often the only time I got to take pictures!

Sammy earned his yellow arm band which entailed treading water for 30 seconds, then swimming half the length of the pool without touching the bottom or sides.  This meant that he had much more freedom and could swim without a life preserver or a parent right next to him.  Max has a green arm band and is becoming quite the amazing swimmer.   Jack is a little afraid of getting in water deeper than his hips and could quite possible be a red band for a long, long time.

Some good friends of ours had a 4th of July party complete with a dunk tank and some great fireworks.  This picture is of Max in the tank with Sammy trying to "dunk" him by throwing balls at the target...

Max with his best buddies, Conner and Julian...

We finished off Independence Day by going to the "real" fireworks (the "sky kind" as Sam likes to call them) after the party. Compared to the great display and experience we get in UT this time of year, this fireworks show was a major let down.  But, at least we tried!

Motorcycle riding fun...

We spent a fun day at Marsh Creek State Park which is a beautiful park with rolling hills and a large lake for fishing and sailing and such.  The boys had fun playing in the sand and wading in the lake.  Then we enjoyed a nice lunch before renting a small boat to tour the lake.

Jacky loves to dress up--just like his brothers.  This spiderman costume is just a little big on him, but isn't he adorable?

We took the boys to a Marvel Superheroes show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.  The boys and I drove into the city and picked up Daddy from work first, then we went to a nice dinner before the show.

This and That in June

June.  Seems like a lifetime ago as I am retroactively writing about it.  Since I am so behind, I will post mostly pictures...

We did a lot of new planting.  This particular mulch bed had been empty since we redesigned our front walkway a couple of years ago.  It was high time that we buy some plants and make it pretty!

We also did some planting in the back.  Jack's loves to help dig in the dirt and then spray everything down with water...

Our garden...

When Jack isn't busy helping Paul and I with yard work, he is extremely occupied with bringing every toy he can find out onto the deck.  This was what the deck looked like a lot during the beginning of summer...

We had fun riding our bikes...

And our motorcycles…

this is Max

and this is Sam

We had our friends the Boyle's and the Sheridan's over for a BBQ...

We had some fun play dates with the Impriano kids...

Daddy had a birthday--Jambalaya for dinner...

And Jack finished his little Intro to Preschool class that he took a couple of times a week at the YMCA...
