Here is a picture of Sam on his tummy. He loves tummy time (which is entirely opposite of Max who detested being on his belly) so we play like this quite often. I think when Max is down on the floor playing next to him he just gets a much better view of what is going on with all of his big brother's toys and noises than he would if he were lying on his back staring at the ceiling. This is probably why he is already rolling over (he started doing so at 7 weeks old).
One of the great things about having another little boy is that I don't have to buy new baby clothes. It has been quite exciting to put Sam in an outfit and remember Max when he was so tiny wearing the same thing.
Can you tell who is who?
This is Max
And this is Sam. They are both around 8 weeks in these pictures.
Sam had his two month appointment last week and he has grown so much! He weighed in at 12 lbs 7 oz (75th percentile) and was 24 inches long (85th percentile). He also had to get his shots-- ouch!!
My two precious boys...
Max just loves Sam so much and he is so good with him. It amazes (and relieves) me everyday.
The first thing Max says to me in the mornings now when I get him from his crib is "awake Sammy," and then he runs into my bedroom to say hello to (and wake up) his little bro.
October was full of beautiful weather and nice warm days (although there was still a lot of rain). I decided to take the boys to Longwood Gardens to see the fall display and we had such a great time. There were huge, intricately carved pumpkins, all kinds of crazy gourds, and a bunch of trains to watch. It was such a warm day that I was wishing we had worn shorts, sandals and T-shirts.
Max had a good time playing with this wheelbarrow. He would fill it up with straw and then try to push it, but it would inevitably tip over every time. He was persistent, though, and struggled with it for quite a while.
Sam was with us, too, but he spent most of the time sleeping...
And of course Max loved that Thomas was one of the trains on display. He could have stared at the "choo-choo's" for hours, and I had to bribe him with a sucker in order to get him into the car so we could make it home in time for a nap.
We also did a LOT of Halloween stuff this year. The tricky part: finding a costume for Max that didn't seem like a costume. We had a cute hand-me-down monkey costume from cousin Koa, but when I tried it on Max he totally freaked out--tears, tantrums--I couldn't get it off him fast enough. So, I looked online and found this cute little Indian Brave costume. It was perfect because as far as Max was concerned he was just wearing a pair of pants and a shirt. He had no idea I dressed him up in adorable Halloween attire
We had a fun Halloween party with our Mom's club at a park--another beautiful day.
Then we went to West Chester's annual Halloween parade. This was much more crowded than we had anticipated--there were mobs of people there all dressed up. The parade was pretty awesome (and I am not usually a fan of parades). Max had a fun time looking at all the great costumes and filling up his pumpkin with candy.
Then there was the trick-or-treating. Max actually had a blast doing this. He would carry his little pumpkin up to the door, knock, and then he would say "chick r treat" and grab a candy (or two, or three). His little pumpkin got quite heavy but he wouldn't let Paul or I carry it, he kept saying, "No, mine!" everytime we would try. He did get quite the stash of candy. I think we have eaten enough Halloween junk to last us for the next year (or two, or three).
I got really creative in dressing Sam up this year.
And here are some pictures from Halloween 2008--my how our lives have changed in a year.
Here is a video of Sam rolling over. I tried to put this at the beginning but it didn't quite work that out that way.
