Easter 2012

Holidays always make me homesick and remind me how sad it is that we have absolutely NO family close by.  Easter is no exception.  I have so many fond memories of fun Easter's spent at the sandhills or at gramma Bonnie's with all of my cousins.  We had quite a tradition.  Unfortunately, my kids don't/won't get any of that.   But, we try to make it fun and memorable for them anyway.  I just wish they had some cousins close by...

We went to a friend's house a couple of days before Easter for an egg hunt in her backyard.  Sam had a good time looking for the colorful plastic eggs, but he wasn't very good at it.  I literally had to point them all out to him, then he would eagerly run toward each one and carefully place it in his basket.

They were all excited to find the eggs around the house that the Easter Bunny hid for them.   I don't know what that bunny was thinking bringing as much candy as he did...

Jack's first Easter...

Max and Sam got new bikes from the Easter Bunny.  Max decided his was kind of like a motorcycle so he needed to wear his cool biker jacket (inherited from cousin Koa)..

Max is amazing--he hopped right on his new, bigger two-wheeler and away he went.  Speedy little 4-year-old...

Sam got this cool wooden balance bike...

Since it was such a beautiful day and we had nothing else to do, we decided to head to the park with our new bikes, buckets and shovels

This is as close as my boys will get to playing at the sand hills on Easter...
